Game Rules

A few things to keep the Empire running smoothly for everyone:

• If a challenge has multiple items available to take (candy, tokens, etc.), please take only one unless otherwise specified.
• Items you earn through the game are yours to keep.
• There are limited items. Start early. Work as a team.
• Do not attempt a challenge until you have found its page in CTFd. If you stumble across something that looks like a challenge prop, go find the challenge on the web interface first before interacting with it. Often they will have an NFC tag or QR code right on them. We don't want anyone randomly splitting logs or picking locks they haven't been directed to.
• No puzzles require destroying any farm property — with the exception of a couple of Barbarian challenges, which will be obvious when you encounter them. If you're unsure whether something is meant to be broken, opened, or disassembled, ask first.
• Nothing related to the game is inside the house. Please don't go looking for clues in there.
• Do not rewrite NFC tags. This is a disqualifying offense. The tags are intentionally kept rewritable so we can reuse them — please don't mess with them.
• If something seems broken, missing, or not working as expected — or if you're confident you have the right answer but the system isn't accepting it — please find Jake, Marsha, or Adam.

Play at your own risk. Some challenges involve real physical activity — axe throwing, lifting, splitting logs, and more — and pose a genuine risk of injury if not done carefully. Use common sense and look out for each other.

Create an account at game.kush-empire.com. A real email isn't required and isn't validated, but hang on to your login, since we may play again next year!

Teams

You'll need to form a "Team" to play. Teams may consist of 1-5 players.
